Viet Cuong is 15 years old and
currently enrolled as a Junior at Lassiter High School in Georgia.
Viet started to compose music for the concert band since 13 years
old. His first musical composition “Spring Display” was performed by
the Mabry Middle School Concert Band in Spring 2004. Viet plays a
variety of musical instrument such as piano, clarinet, flute,
percussion (including drum, marimba, timpani, xylophone).
Viet is a member of the Two Time National Championship Lassiter HS
Trojan Marching Band, Symphonic No.1, Tri-M Honor Music Society,
Section Leader of the Pit Percussion. Viet is a two-time PTA Georgia
State winner of musical composition, and was selected as Principal
Mallet at 2006 Georgia State Honor Band and Cobb County Honor Band.
In December 2006, Viet was selected to be one of fourteen Lassiter
HS percussionists to perform at Midwest Clinic Chicago. This
conference was attended by 15,000 music educators and performers
from around the world.
In addition to musical talent, Viet has excelled in academics, has
been enrolled in Gifted program, taking Advanced Placement and Honor
classes at Lassiter HS (such as Math, Biology, Literature, History).
Viet is an A+ student and an outstanding band member at Lassiter HS.
